Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 18, 2026
Expert Care Near Me (“we”, “us”) runs a directory of US healthcare providers at expertcarenearme.com. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and what you can do about it.
We are not a healthcare provider, and we don't provide medical care or advice. Please don't send us symptoms, diagnoses or other medical details. For a medical emergency, call 911.
What do we collect?
- Provider listings. Names, specialties, license states, office addresses and phone numbers come from the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES), a public federal registry. Providers who claim a profile can add a bio, languages, website, booking link and other details.
- Appointment requests. Your name, email, phone number, the type of visit you chose from our list (such as “new patient visit”), whether you are a new or existing patient, your preferred times, and the consent wording you agreed to.
- Provider accounts and claims. Your email address, your name and phone number, how you are connected to the profile, and anything you add to support the claim, such as a practice email or license number.
- Visit information. Your IP address, browser, the pages you view, and how you arrived (for example, the search engine or link that sent you, and any campaign tags in the link). We use it to keep the site working and secure and to stop spam.
- Phone link taps. When you tap a phone number on the site, we record the tap, the page and the time, so we can tell how often the directory connects patients to offices.
- Cookies. Essential cookies keep you signed in and remember your cookie choices. Analytics and advertising cookies are used only if you agree to them in the cookie banner, or later in Cookie Preferences at the bottom of every page. Searching for a kind of care can reveal something about your health. Without your consent, nothing about your visit is reported to an advertising platform. We never send your name, email address, phone number, message or any health information to an advertising platform.
How do we use it?
- To deliver appointment requests. If the office has claimed its profile, we send your request to the people who manage that profile. If it hasn't, we keep the request, let the office know a patient asked, and invite it to claim its profile. We never send your request to a different office without your permission.
- To verify providers. We review every claim before a person can edit a profile, usually by calling the office phone listed in the registry.
- To run and improve the site. Sign-in, security, spam prevention, and measuring how the directory is used.
What don't we do?
- We don't sell your personal information.
- We don't put the reason for your visit in emails; offices read it after signing in.
- We don't use your appointment request for advertising, and no advertising tag runs on the request form.
Who else handles your information?
Service providers that host and operate the site for us: Vercel (website hosting), MongoDB Atlas (request storage), Hetzner (our database server in the European Union), and SendGrid (email delivery). Each may only use the information to provide its service to us. If you accept analytics or advertising cookies, the companies behind those tools receive information about your visit under their own policies.
What choices do you have?
- Cookies. Use the banner on your first visit, or “Cookie Preferences” at the bottom of any page. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as an opt-out of advertising cookies.
- Access, correction and deletion. Email privacy@expertcarenearme.com. We respond within 30 days.
- Providers. After claiming your profile you can hide your phone number or street address and correct anything that doesn't come from the registry. Registry details change in NPPES and reach us within a week.
- California residents. See your California privacy rights.
How long do we keep it?
Appointment requests and claims are kept while they are useful for running the service and resolving disputes, and no longer than three years, unless the law requires otherwise. Sign-in links expire after 30 minutes.
Children
The site is for adults. A parent or guardian should request appointments for a child. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.
